Governor DeWine Announces Criteria to Eliminate State Curfew

Governor Mike DeWine announced Tuesday that the state has plans to roll back or eliminate the state's curfew in its entirety.


The state's curfew, which has already been extended twice, is set to expire on January 30. The Governor was likely to extend the curfew once again, but in light of today's announcement, certain criteria have been set, and if met, the curfew will be eliminated.


1.If Ohio sees seven consecutive days of COVID-19 hospitalizations below 3,500; the curfew will be pushed back to 11 p.m. This could happen as soon as Thursday, with the state already being on its sixth consecutive day.


2. Less than 3,000 hospitalizations for seven consecutive days, the curfew will be pushed back to midnight.


3. Less than 2,500 hospitalizations for seven consecutive days, the curfew will be eliminated.
